How do you stage your home so that buyers will be able to envision themselves living there?
# 1. Depersonalizing and decluttering are at the top of the list.
So, take all the fun magnets off the fridge, put away the many personal items and family photos that you love so much (yes, even the grandkids). And, trust us, the things that make your house a home for you, more often than not are distracting to buyers.
Then listen to your agent when he or she says that great art piece from your grown son’s 7th grade art class needs to come down. Or, that your spouse’s favorite recliner given him by Great Uncle Harry might need to be stored away for another time. We know it is hard. It is hard for us to too. We also know how important home is. And, we know what makes one sell. Ask one of our agents.
